Burgholz, Mountain summit in Kirchhain, Germany.

Located in the Gilserberg Heights near Kirchhain, Burgholz reaches an elevation of 379 meters with dense forest covering most of its slopes.

The ruins of Hunburg Castle from the 8th century stand on the northwest spur of Burgholz, featuring ancient fortifications and remnants of a pincer gate.

The Hunburgturm observation tower, constructed in 1968, rises 28.5 meters above the summit, offering panoramic views of the Rothaar Mountains and Gladenbach Uplands.

Multiple hiking trails connect the summit with surrounding areas, making it accessible from the towns of Emsdorf, Langenstein, and the northern parts of Kirchhain.

Despite its modest height, Burgholz stands 10 kilometers taller than the neighboring Amöneburg and marks the transition into the Amöneburg Basin.
