Christuskirche, Protestant church in Tübinger Vorstadt district, Reutlingen, Germany
The Christuskirche is a Protestant church in the Tübinger Vorstadt district built with limestone walls from Gönningen quarry. The building features large windows for natural light and stands at Lohmühlestraße 30.
The church was completed in 1936 and stands as one of the last religious buildings constructed during Germany's Third Reich period. Its completion occurred when such religious construction projects were becoming increasingly rare.
The church houses several choirs including the Cantemus vocal ensemble and displays works by local artists such as Walter Kohler and Rudolf Müller. These artworks shape the interior space and give it a personal character rooted in the region.
Four bells hang in the church tower, which also contains a clock mechanism and a small room beneath the roof openings. The tower serves as a visible landmark and helps with orientation in the neighborhood.
The site is being transformed into a diaconal center designed to include about 25 residential units while preserving its function as a concert venue. This conversion merges religious, social, and cultural purposes in one location.
