Dreiländerhalle, multi-purpose hall in Passau, Bavaria, Germany
The Dreiländerhalle is a large multi-purpose venue in Passau used for concerts, trade fairs, and exhibitions. Its interior features open space with high ceilings that can be quickly rearranged to accommodate different types of events and gatherings.
Built on the site of a former military barracks that the city acquired in 1993, the hall opened in 2003 as part of a larger urban development project. It replaced the older Nibelungenhalle and was supported by a cross-border regional program.
The hall takes its name from the nearby Three-Country Corner, which marks the border where Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic meet. This name reflects how the place serves as a meeting point for people from different countries and backgrounds.
The venue has ample parking and sits conveniently near Passau's city center, making it easy to reach by car or public transport. The large parking area ensures you will find a spot without difficulty.
The venue was called Streif-Arena until 2007, a name that never really took hold in local use or media coverage. The change to Dreiländerhalle better reflected its identity near the border region.
