The Wartbergkirche features a hexagonal floor plan with a tent-like roof structure, complemented by a 34-meter bell tower covered in climbing plants.
Built between 1965 and 1967 according to Rudolf Gabel's design, the Wartbergkirche emerged as the newest Protestant church in central Heilbronn's developing residential area.
The church interior contains artworks by Fritz Melis, including a black marble altar and hammered copper altar image, plus Hans Gottfried von Stockhausen's stained glass windows.
Located at Schüblerstraße 6 at the foot of Wartberg, the church serves Protestant Christians from both the Wartberg area and Heilbronn's industrial district.
The church's five bells produce sounds in the Phrygian church mode, making the Wartbergkirche a point of interest for bell specialists throughout Germany.
