Ellertshäuser See

Ellertshäuser See is a man-made reservoir in Stadtlauringen and the largest lake of its kind in Lower Franconia. The clear water is set among forests and meadows with gently sloping shores that invite swimming, boating, and fishing throughout the year.

The reservoir was created decades ago to store water for local farms and households in the region. Over time its purpose shifted, and today it primarily serves recreation and leisure for visitors and residents alike.
