Emscherquellhof

The Emscherquellhof is a timber-framed farmstead with a main house, bakehouse, and stable building set on spacious grounds near the Emscher river springs. The restored structures are surrounded by gardens where plants and beekeeping operations are maintained.

The farm was built around 1801 by the farming families Lünschermann and Schroer and later identified as a spring area for the Emscher river. The location gained new importance after industrialization as a starting point for environmental restoration efforts.

The site functions as a space for exhibitions and traditional crafts, where visitors can observe techniques like natural fabric dyeing and fruit cultivation in practice. This role as a community gathering place shapes how local people engage with their regional heritage.
