Urnenhain Tolkewitz, Heritage cemetery in Dresden, Germany.
The cemetery features Art Nouveau architecture with sandstone structures decorated with floral ornaments, coats of arms, and detailed stone reliefs throughout the grounds.
The old crematorium opened in 1911 following the legalization of cremation in Saxony, marking a shift in regional funeral practices in the early 20th century.
The architecture and design of the crematorium drew inspiration from Arnold Böcklin's painting Die Toteninsel, incorporating water features and monumental structures into the layout.
Visitors can access multiple hiking routes near the cemetery, including paths from Gartenheimsiedlung and connections to the Blue Wonder walking trail.
The cemetery contains an open urn hall and a distinctive courtyard with a water feature known as the fountain of tears, designed by architects Meyer and Schumacher.
