Kulturzentrum Faust, Sociocultural center in Linden-Limmer, Germany.
Kulturzentrum Faust is a sociocultural center in the Linden-Limmer district of Hannover, housed in a converted factory site. It has stages, exhibition rooms, workshops, and a beer garden, all spread across the large open grounds.
The center opened in 1991 on the grounds of a former factory run by the Werner & Ehlers company, which had shaped the neighborhood for decades. After industrial production ended, a group of cultural workers took over the site and turned it into an open community space.
The center sits in a neighborhood long known as a working-class district, and its program still reflects that character today. Theater, concerts, and exhibitions are aimed at a broad audience, not just specialists or regulars.
The center is in the Linden-Limmer district and is easy to reach on foot or by local transit. On warm days, the beer garden on the grounds is a good spot to meet before or after an event.
The center regularly holds competitions where the audience votes directly on new literary and artistic works. This turns visitors into active participants who help decide the outcome of the evening.
