Schloss Weitersroda, Cultural heritage château in southern Thüringer Wald, Germany
Schloss Weitersroda stands on five hectares of land featuring diverse gardens, fruit trees, sunny fields, and a grove for recreational activities.
The castle construction began in 1478 under Eucharius von Hessberg, a Franconian imperial knight who served as castle lord for 44 years.
Prince Eugene of Saxe-Hildburghausen established a porcelain manufactory at the castle and founded a church in Weitersroda during 1792.
The castle offers three holiday apartments, including the Therese suite that accommodates twelve guests with two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.
A 300-year-old lime tree stands in the courtyard, surrounded by gardens producing fruits, berries, and vegetables for castle residents and visitors.
