Jägerhof, Renaissance hunting lodge in Dresden, Germany

The Jägerhof stands on the Neustadt side of the River Elbe, featuring polygonal stair towers and curved domes in Renaissance architectural style.

The Elector August transferred his hunting activities to this location in 1568, leading to the construction of a four-winged building completed in 1617.

The Museum of Saxon Folk Art has occupied the Jägerhof since 1913, while the upper floor houses the Puppet Theatre Collection since 2005.

Visitors can find the Jägerhof at Köpckestraße 1 in Dresden and contact the museum administration at +49 351 49 14 2000.

In 1654, the Jägerhof housed 40 bears within its walls, marking an unusual period in the building's long history.
