Schloss Agnestal

Schloss Agnestal is a Baroque manor house in Zuzenhausen featuring three stories and a steep hipped roof. Distinctive towers rise on each side of the main structure, defining its form and giving it its striking appearance.

A military officer named Johann Hermann von Freudenberg acquired the land in 1716 and built the estate complex including this castle. The Baroque structure rose during an era when such buildings reflected the wealth and influence of their owners.

The coat of arms displayed on the castle reflects a union between two noble families and their connection to this place. These heraldic symbols tell of relationships and alliances that shaped the building's identity over centuries.

The building sits outside the town center and can be reached from major regional routes via the A6 toward Sinsheim. Visitors should note that this is private property and access should be arranged in advance.

Today the historic castle serves as a training facility and administrative headquarters for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, a Bundesliga football club. This creates an unusual connection between the Baroque past of the estate and modern professional sports.
