Wallfahrtskirche Hl. Kreuz

The church features a three-aisled hall structure with three bays and a chancel that ends in a five-eighths apse, displaying Gothic architectural elements throughout.

Originally constructed as a castle chapel in 1207, the church underwent reconstruction after a fire in 1316 and received consecration by Bishop Ludwig of Münster in 1344.

The church houses a wooden crucifix from 1080-1100, measuring 115 centimeters in height, which serves as the central focus for religious pilgrimage activities.

The church maintains an organ built in 1977 by Speith-Orgelbau, containing 23 registers and 1,490 pipes, housed within a historic case from 1682.

The church bells reside in the Paulusturm instead of a traditional church tower, as this religious structure was constructed without its own bell tower.
