Neue Flora, Musical theater in Altona-Nord, Hamburg, Germany
Neue Flora is a musical theater in the Altona-Nord district of Hamburg with 1,850 seats and a stage measuring 815 square meters, making it one of the largest performance venues in the city. The seating rows follow an amphitheater layout so every spot offers direct views of the stage.
Stella Entertainment built the theater in 1990 after abandoning plans for the Rote Flora site. The Phantom of the Opera ran continuously here from 1990 to 2001 and drew more than seven million spectators.
The name refers to the historic Flora theater that once stood elsewhere in the St. Pauli district. Today the building shapes the area around Holstenplatz with its modern glass facades and large forecourt where visitors gather before shows.
The stage sits centrally in the auditorium so you can follow the performance well from all sides. The building is located near Holstenstraße station and is easy to reach by public transport.
The facility uses automated building systems with OPEN 800 EMS controllers to regulate room climate and keep carbon dioxide emissions low. These systems work in the background and maintain comfort during large audience numbers.
