Liebfrauenkirche, Medieval church in Bautzen, Germany
The Liebfrauenkirche stands with its north-facing tower, measuring 25 meters in length and 8 meters in width at Kirchplatz 6.
Initially documented in April 1293, the church underwent multiple reconstructions due to damages from fires in 1634 and 1686, achieving its current form between 1864 and 1900.
The church holds regular services for the Sorbian-speaking Catholic community and contains stained-glass windows depicting the heavenly Jerusalem.
The Liebfrauenkirche belongs to the St. Petri Cathedral parish since 1984 and remains accessible through public transportation from central Bautzen.
The church grounds included a cemetery from 1318 to 1865, situated outside the city walls near the Salzmarkt.
