The La-Salette chapel stands on Fuchsberg hill, featuring a Marian grotto with a large boulder and a neo-Gothic architectural design with a Gothic altar inside.
The chapel was built in 1866 after Pastor Josef Steigmaier recovered from illness and fulfilled his promise to construct a shrine dedicated to Our Lady of La Salette.
The chapel contains figurative scenes depicting the 1846 appearance of Mary to shepherd children Melanie Calvat and Maximin Giraud in La Salette, France.
Each Sunday following September 19, the chapel celebrates its annual festival starting at 6:00 AM with morning mass and continuing with pilgrim processions throughout the day.
The grotto displays a massive glacier-transported boulder with an inscription stating its journey from mountains to serve as a monument to the Mother of God.
