Paulskirche

Paulskirche is a stone church featuring a polygonal choir and a western tower divided into three levels with late Gothic elements throughout. The masonry work demonstrates the craftsmanship invested in every part of the structure.

The building was constructed between 1491 and 1492, with the western tower added during the 1520s, showing how the structure developed over several decades. This staged construction was common for many churches in the region as funding and building work progressed gradually.

The interior displays stone reliefs showing the birth of Christ and several epitaphs honoring members of the Schenck zu Schweinsberg noble family. These works reflect the people who shaped this place over generations.

The location is at Burgstraße 5 in Hermannstein and has been open to visitors since undergoing major renovations that finished in March 2019. When you arrive, be aware that opening hours may vary, so it is helpful to check in advance or look for local information.

The church received its first organ in 1837, funded by the civil community, and this instrument has undergone numerous modifications since its installation. This community commitment to music reveals how important this building was to local life for generations.
