Oskar von Miller Tower, Meteorological measurement tower in Garching bei München, Germany.
The Oskar von Miller Tower rises 62 meters high with an oval ground plan and features horizontally stacked glass rings at different measurement levels.
The tower, completed in 2010, replaced a previous guyed mast that conducted meteorological measurements for the Technical University of Munich since 1961.
The structure serves as a research facility for the Technical University of Munich, collecting weather data through instruments positioned at multiple height levels.
Measurement instruments are mounted on retractable sledges attached to booms extending in four directions, allowing easy maintenance access from inside the tower.
The tower incorporates 5100 LED lights that display both the university logo and current weather data on its translucent acrylic glass exterior.
