Cathedral Window, Gerhard Richter Window in Cologne Cathedral, Germany
The Gerhard Richter Window is a stunning stained-glass window located in the south transept of the Cologne Cathedral.
Unveiled in 2007, it replaced the plain glass that had been installed after World War II damage.
Designed by renowned German artist Gerhard Richter, the window consists of 11,500 identically sized pieces of colored glass resembling pixels, randomly arranged by computer.
The cathedral, including the Richter Window, can be visited daily and is free of charge.
Unlike traditional church windows, the Richter Window does not depict biblical scenes or saints, but an abstract pattern.
