Schloss Seyfriedsberg, Heritage castle in Ziemetshausen, Germany.
Schloss Seyfriedsberg is a castle complex with a three-story main building and a side wing positioned at right angles to each other. A connecting wall encloses a central courtyard between the two structures.
The castle first appeared in records in 1251 as the residence of Konrad Spannagel. It passed through the hands of the Bishops of Augsburg, the Staufer dynasty, and the Habsburgs over the following centuries.
The name comes from the Seyfried family who lived here for generations. Visitors can sense how the estate served as an important residence for regional noble families.
The forest-botanical park surrounding the castle welcomes visitors year-round for leisurely walks. Plan time to explore the varied tree species from around the world that are spread throughout the grounds.
The castle's special microclimate allows sensitive plant species to grow, including Ginkgo trees and ancient Sequoia trees cultivated long ago by a prince. These rare specimens continue to shape the character of the grounds today.
