Schloss Windach

Schloss Windach is a rectangular castle featuring a round tower on its southeastern side, dating from 1610. The building has three entrances with wrought iron railings from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The castle was built in 1610 as a noble seat for the Hofmark Windach under Franz Füll, a Munich merchant. In the 19th century, the building underwent renovation and received an additional floor along with a hipped roof.

The castle grounds include a park where local people walk and gather, keeping the region's past connected to everyday life. Visitors can see how nature and the old building blend together in this space.

The castle is located near Landsberg am Lech and is easily reachable on foot. Visitors should note that it is a private property and the interior is generally not open to the public.

The castle is registered as a protected monument under the number D-1-81-146-11, ensuring its preservation. This status safeguards the historical structure against alterations and maintains its original character.
