Schloss Pudagla, Renaissance château in Pudagla, Germany

Schloss Pudagla is a Renaissance building with two stories that features twelve symmetrical window axes and a rounded bay projection on its facade. The structure serves as both a restaurant and a venue for concerts and exhibitions throughout the year.

Duke Ernst Ludwig of Pomerania ordered the construction of this castle in 1574 as a residence for his mother, Duchess Maria of Saxony. The building was erected on the foundation walls of a former monastery, marking a shift from religious to noble residential use.

The coat of arms displayed above the main entrance reflects the connection to Pomeranian nobility and their regional influence. Visitors can observe how these symbols of power remain integrated into the building's physical presence today.

The castle is located at Schlossstraße 8 and functions as an active venue with dining options and regular events hosted throughout the year. Visitors should check opening times in advance, especially if planning to dine or attend an exhibition.

The castle was built directly on the ruins of a Benedictine monastery that previously occupied the site. This transformation reflects the shift from religious to secular power, and evidence of the earlier structure remains visible in the building's foundations.
