Villa Weigang, Heritage villa in Blasewitz, Germany
The three-sided villa features Renaissance architectural elements, including a tower, high gable, sundial, and shell-adorned niches along Goetheallee and Käthe-Kollwitz-Ufer.
Architect Max Georg Poscharsky designed and started building the villa in 1894, selling it to printing company owner Otto Weigang from Bautzen in 1895.
The interior preserves ornate stained glass windows, original fayence fireplace, wooden paneling, stucco decorations, and paintings restored between 1991 and 1994.
The registry office schedules civil weddings from Wednesday through Saturday, with two ceremonial rooms accommodating up to 20 guests each.
German registry officials selected Villa Weigang as the most beautiful registry office in Germany during a national competition in 2013.
