Weser-Ems Halle, multi-purpose hall and arena complex in Oldenburg, Germany
The Weser-Ems Halle is a large event and sports center in Oldenburg with multiple halls spanning over 12,500 square meters. The complex includes a smaller and larger arena, a fair hall, and a conference area with seminar rooms.
The center grew from the original Kongresshalle built in 1954, which was initially constructed for livestock markets but later converted into an event venue. In 1994, the building underwent major renovation, with new stages installed and acoustics optimized for orchestra performances.
The name 'Weser-Ems' refers to two river regions in Lower Saxony, reflecting the venue's regional importance. The space serves as a meeting point where people gather to visit markets, watch sports, or attend concerts throughout the year.
The venue sits close to the main train station and is accessible on foot, with over 3,000 parking spots nearby for drivers. The hall offers free WiFi throughout, wheelchair-accessible entrances, and catering services on-site.
The hall is particularly valued for its excellent acoustics, which ranks among the best in Germany for live music following the 1994 renovation. The parking lot is also used as a market space in summer, where traders sell their goods.
