Stadtpark Uerdingen, Public park in Uerdingen, Germany
Stadtpark Uerdingen is a large public park with lawns, wooded areas, pergolas, and gardens filled with perennial plants. The park has many walking paths, two playgrounds, a pond, a restaurant, and also tennis courts and mini-golf facilities.
The park was founded in 1897 by Johann Wolff and was designed to feel like a forest. It grew steadily during the 1900s and reached its current size in the 1980s.
The arboretum displays more than 100 tree species from the region and distant places, each marked with informative signs. Visitors can discover these varieties while walking and learn about where they come from.
The park is easy to explore on foot, with clearly marked paths and rest areas throughout. Visitors can find benches to sit on anywhere and choose between wooded sections and open spaces.
In spring, thousands of daffodils bloom across a large meadow at the entrance and create a yellow carpet. This colorful display is one of the year's highlights for the park.
