Blabbermühle and Blabberschäferei

Blabbermühle comprises multiple brick buildings positioned along the Blabbergraben stream, including residential structures and agricultural facilities constructed in different periods. The complex displays the typical layout of a mill estate with functional buildings arranged nearby.

First documented in 1518 in the Storkow estate registry, the mill remained operational until the 1920s, processing grain and oil. The operation ceased gradually afterward and the site fell into abandonment by 1952.

The adjacent sheep farm became home to German writer Günter de Bruyn starting in 1968, linking the site to Brandenburg's literary community. Today, visitors can sense how the property connected to the region's cultural life.

The site is located in Brandenburg's Oder-Spree region and accessible via local roads. Visitors should be prepared for quiet rural paths since the grounds are set apart from everyday traffic.

Archaeological evidence reveals that two post windmills once stood above the watermill, creating a multi-part milling system for the area. This rare combination of different mill types in one location is seldom seen today.
