Sulzberger-See, Natural monument lake in Sulzberg, Germany
Sulzberger-See is a natural lake in the Oberallgäu region that stretches roughly 1100 meters in length and about 450 meters wide. Protected areas with wetlands and forests surround the water across about 130 hectares.
The lake formed after the last Ice Age through glacial processes that shaped the Oberallgäu landscape. These ancient forces created the water body and the surrounding wetland terrain we see today.

During winter months the lake freezes solid and becomes a natural ice skating rink where people trace paths across the ice. This seasonal transformation offers a completely different experience from its summer role as a swimming destination.
