Holy Cross Church

Holy Cross Church is a Gothic Revival building in Keyenberg featuring pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and a prominent southwestern tower. The structure incorporates traditional Gothic design elements and was completed in the early 1900s.

A church at this location was first mentioned in 893, with the building undergoing several reconstructions over the centuries. The current Gothic Revival structure was built between 1912 and 1913.

The interior displays neo-Gothic fixtures such as a high altar and decorated pulpit that fill the space with religious meaning. These furnishings span different periods and shape how the building feels to those who enter it.

The building is viewable from outside, but note that access may be limited since the church no longer holds regular services. The best time to photograph the exterior is during daylight hours, and visitors should approach the grounds respectfully.

The church houses three bells in its tower, including the Maria bell dating to 1455. This historical bell ranks among the oldest still-functioning bells in the region.
