Eissportzentrum Grefrath, Ice sports complex in Grefrath, Germany
Eissportzentrum Grefrath is a multipurpose ice facility with 3 skating surfaces, including a 400-meter outdoor speed skating track and an indoor recreational rink. The complex covers 8,000 square meters and holds up to 6,300 spectators in its tiered seating areas.
The facility opened in autumn 1971 with an indoor rink and construction continued until 1975 to complete the outdoor track and supporting buildings. Since then it has served as an established venue for ice sports and regional events.
The center draws crowds for ice shows, concerts, and performances that bring the community together throughout the year. It serves as a gathering place where families and sports fans spend time together in a shared space.
The facility offers regular public skating sessions and seasonal events that visitors should plan ahead for. With capacity for several thousand people, there is usually room for visitors, though arrival early during major events is advisable.
The venue is recognized by the German Olympic Sports Federation as a federal training center for developing junior speed skaters. This makes it a training ground for future competitive athletes at the national level.
