Christi Himmelfahrt

The Christi Himmelfahrt church stands with its stone facade and features architectural elements characteristic of German religious structures from the 18th century.

Originally constructed as a Protestant cemetery church in 1743, the building transitioned to Catholic ownership through a series of negotiations completed in 1974.

The church maintains regular Catholic services while preserving historical gravestones relocated from the former cemetery that surrounded the building until 1894.

The church contains an organ built in 1987 by Schönefeld, incorporating 18 registers, two manuals, and a pedal for musical performances.

The surrounding cemetery grounds transformed into a public park in 1924, with selected historical gravestones preserved within the church walls.
