Schloss Biendorf

Schloss Biendorf, Late Baroque castle in Bernburg, Germany

Schloss Biendorf is a Baroque castle in Bernburg that originated in the early 18th century and was later modified. The building features a main structure and a northern section with an organized Baroque garden whose stone walls remain intact today.

The castle was built around 1720 by Busso von Hagen and initially served as a private residence. Later, Prince Carl Georg Leberecht von Anhalt-Köthen acquired the property and used it as a summer retreat from the mid-18th century onward.

The castle houses a private museum with unusual collections that offer insight into everyday life across different periods. The displayed objects show how people lived and what mattered to them in their daily routines.

The castle is accessible only by prior arrangement since it remains a private property. It is best to contact ahead of time to schedule a visit and learn about available options for touring the grounds.

The castle houses a remarkable private collection of everyday objects that were once common in many homes. These items offer a rare glimpse into forgotten aspects of material culture and personal history.
