Schloss Biendorf, Late Baroque castle in Bernburg, Germany
The castle features a main building from 1927 with a northern quadratic area containing a structured baroque garden with preserved stone walls and portal.
Built around 1720 by Busso von Hagen, Prince Carl Georg Leberecht von Anhalt-Köthen acquired and transformed the estate into a summer residence between 1759 and 1784.
The castle museum displays 210 collections including 300 porcelain chocolate boxes, 100,000 pins, 75,000 thimbles, and 60,000 postcards gathered over 25 years.
Visits to Schloss Biendorf require advance booking, with guided tours followed by coffee and cake services available through prior arrangement.
The private museum at Schloss Biendorf contains what is claimed to be the world's largest collection of thimbles and pipes, curated by owner Erik van de Merwe.
