Bernharduskirche Baden-Baden, Catholic Art Nouveau parish church in Weststadt district, Baden-Baden, Germany.
Bernharduskirche is a Catholic parish church in Art Nouveau style located in the Weststadt district, featuring three entrances that lead to the main interior space lined with decorated columns displaying religious figures. An organ with 46 registers sits prominently on the choir loft, its ornate case rising above the seating area.
Construction began in 1911 following the demolition of an earlier religious building from 1653, and was completed in 1914 under architect Johannes Schroth's design. The new building replaced the older structure at the same location.
The interior displays artworks by Otto Rünzi and Karl Leon, while stained glass windows designed by Adolf Schnell and Otto Vittali fill the space with colored light. These artistic elements shape how the church feels when you walk through it.
The church is located at Bernhardusplatz 2 and serves the local Catholic community with regular services throughout the week. Visitors can access the building during standard opening hours to view the interior and organ.
The bell tower houses a ringing system cast by Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in Heidelberg in 1953 and tuned in perfect fifths. This uncommon tuning method gives the bells a distinctive sound that differs from typical church bells.
