Rittergut Groß Glienicke

The Rittergut Groß Glienicke is a manor estate positioned at the northern shore of Lake Groß Glienicke, with surviving buildings from multiple centuries and extensive parkland areas. The property encompasses several structures alongside open spaces that show the former scale and arrangement of a noble residence.

The estate was first documented in 1375 and came under the control of the von Ribbeck family from 1572, a period spanning over 200 years. This long ownership by the Ribbeck family left lasting marks on the property's buildings and layout.

The grounds reflect how German manor estates were designed and used across different eras, with protected parkland showing these historical patterns. Walking through, you notice how the layout reveals the priorities of its various owners over time.

The grounds are accessible through several cycling routes, including the Mauerradweg, which connects to other recreational paths in the region. Walking access is also available, and the position directly on the lake allows you to approach the site from different directions.

A steam-powered flour mill and distillery were built on the grounds between 1850 and 1868, showing how estates diversified their income through crop processing. These industrial facilities operated alongside the property's farming operations.
