St. Georg, Lutheran parish church in Weidenbach, Germany
St. Georg is a Lutheran parish church in Weidenbach featuring a late Baroque hall design. The building shows a long nave covered with a hipped roof and a bell tower positioned on the eastern side.
The foundation stone was laid on May 12, 1735, following the demolition of an earlier church structure. Architect Leopold Retti completed the new building in 1736.
The interior features continuous two-story galleries with a patronage box above the western entrance and a pulpit altar opposite to it. This layout reflects the Lutheran tradition maintained here since its construction.
The church serves as part of the Dekanat Ansbach within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. Visitors should note that access depends on opening hours, which should be confirmed with the local parish office beforehand.
The upper gallery displays a truncated prospect decorated with Rocaille ornaments, showing fine decorative craftsmanship. Above the lower gallery sits a Steinmeyer organ with 16 stops.
