Fürther Weihnachtsmarkt

Fürther Weihnachtsmarkt is a Christmas market on Fürther Freiheit square featuring over 40 wooden stalls arranged in rows that sell handmade items, ornaments, regional food, and hot beverages. A 14-meter-tall Christmas pyramid, the highest in Bavaria, stands as a focal point.

The market follows Bavarian holiday traditions but was significantly renewed in 2018 with the installation of the towering pyramid. This transformation established it as a major regional destination during the winter season.

The market draws visitors seeking traditional German holiday customs, with the Fürth Christkind playing a central role in opening ceremonies and establishing the festive character. Night watchmen who call out hourly add to this sense of historic celebration.

The market is open daily with free admission and plenty of walking space between the stalls. Visiting in the morning gives you less crowded conditions and better opportunities to watch the craftspeople work.
