Niederfriedhof

Niederfriedhof is a burial ground featuring a neogothic chapel built in the 1800s, located in southern Döbeln on expansive grounds. The site contains many protected burial monuments and accommodates different types of interment.

The grounds were established in the late 1500s during a plague epidemic to address a shortage of burial spaces. The distinctive chapel was added in the 1800s as the cemetery developed.
