Flugzeugmuseum Cämmerswalde, Aviation museum in Cämmerswalde, Germany
Flugzeugmuseum Cämmerswalde displays three original aircraft in its outdoor collection: an Ilyushin Il-14 transport plane, a MiG-21PFM fighter jet, and a Mi-2 helicopter. Each plane can be viewed closely from the ground, allowing visitors to examine their structure and technical details.
The site began in 1973 when an Il-14 transport plane was installed here and initially used as a restaurant before becoming a museum attraction. Over time, additional aircraft were added to create the collection that exists today.
The aircraft here tell the story of flying in East Germany, showing planes that once carried passengers and served the state airline. Walking through the collection, you get a sense of how aviation was organized and valued in a different era.
The museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday starting at 9:00 AM, giving you a flexible schedule to plan your visit. Parking is available on-site, and there is a play area for children if you are visiting with a family.
The Ilyushin Il-14 was built in Dresden in 1957 and has retained its original structure throughout the decades. This aircraft serves as a connection to a major East German aircraft factory that no longer exists today.
