Fårup Summer Park, Theme park in Jammerbugt, Denmark
Fårup Summer Park is an amusement park in Jammerbugt Municipality, Denmark, spread across woodland terrain with more than sixty rides for different age groups. The grounds combine roller coasters, water attractions, and entertainment areas in a natural setting surrounded by trees.
The park opened in 1975 as a small regional facility and developed over the decades through ongoing additions into one of the largest venues of its kind in the country. New sections and rides were gradually added to meet growing visitor numbers.
The name Fårup comes from the nearby village that gives the park its regional identity. Families from across Jutland visit the woodland on summer days and often spend several consecutive days here.
Visitors can stay at the neighboring four-star hotel, camp at the Skovbrynet site, or sleep in the elevated tree houses near the grounds. Most areas are accessible via paved paths, and the main season runs during the summer months.
The Fønix wooden roller coaster reaches speeds of 95 kilometers per hour (59 miles per hour) and heights of 40 meters (131 feet), making it the fastest of its type in Denmark. The construction uses the natural slope of the terrain to create especially steep drops.
