Statens Museum for Kunst, National art museum in central Copenhagen, Denmark
Description
Statens Museum for Kunst is an art museum in the Municipality of Copenhagen, Denmark, presenting paintings, sculptures and graphic works from multiple centuries. The collection extends across galleries in the historic building and an adjoining modern wing.
History
Vilhelm Dahlerup designed the museum building in Renaissance Revival style, which opened its doors in 1896. A modern extension with a glass connection was added in the late 1990s.

Visitors today move through rooms dedicated to golden age Danish masters and modern European movements, experiencing how Danish collectors approached art from across centuries.
