Yellow Palace, 18th-century town mansion in Frederiksstaden, Copenhagen, Denmark

The Yellow Palace stands at Amaliegade 18, featuring neoclassical architecture with a mansard roof and yellow-washed exterior walls adjacent to Amalienborg Palace.

French architect Nicolas-Henri Jardin designed this building between 1759 and 1764 for merchant Frederik Bargum before King Frederick VI acquired it in 1810.

The residence became the birthplace of several European royals, including Frederik VIII of Denmark and Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom.

The Danish Palaces and Properties Agency maintains the building, which currently houses the Lord Chamberlain's Office administrative functions.

The mansion served as home to Prince Christian and Princess Louise, whose children married into various European royal houses, earning them the title of Europe's grandparents.
