Carlsberg Lighthouse, Former lighthouse in Carlsberg district, Copenhagen, Denmark
The limestone tower stands on a granite base near the former Carlsberg Brewery entrance, featuring a cast iron arch with gilded letters above the gate.
Built in 1883 as part of J.C. Jacobsen's Carlsberg Brewery site in Valby, the structure combined the functions of a guardhouse and navigation aid.
The granite pillars display inscribed dates marking essential brewery milestones: first brew in 1847, fire in 1867, and construction in 1883.
The Swiss art gallery von Bartha opened a new exhibition space inside the lighthouse in December 2021, maintaining regular visiting hours for art enthusiasts.
The structure includes a twelve-pointed star above the entrance arch, representing a trademark symbol used by brewery founder J.C. Jacobsen.
