Amager Bio, Cultural center in Amagerbro, Denmark
Amager Bio is a cultural center housed in a modernistic building with two stages, featuring steel-gray architecture and sharp lines. The efficient seating arrangements provide good views from all positions.
The building served as the Amager Biograf cinema from 1941 to 1986 before being transformed into a concert venue in 1997. The conversion preserved its original architectural character.
The venue hosts more than 200 annual concerts across different genres, emphasizing rock, blues, and contemporary electronic music from Scandinavian and international artists. Visitors experience both local talents and established acts in a central location for live music.
The cultural center is accessible by Metro to Amagerbro station or by bus 5C from Copenhagen Central Station. The entrance is located approximately 800 meters from these transit points.
The smaller BETA stage accommodates around 150 people and offers an intimate space for emerging artists and specialized musical performances. This separate platform allows the venue to present different audience sizes and music styles under one roof.
