Kløvermarken

Kløvermarken is a large park in East Amager with multiple football fields, cricket pitches, tennis courts, and weightlifting facilities. The various sports areas are accessible through different entry points and provide space for different activities.

The grounds began as a military training ground in 1847 and became Denmark's first airfield in 1909. Early aviation records were established at this site before it later changed its purpose.

The nature center on site offers environmental programs and outdoor activities for local families throughout the year. These educational offerings help visitors understand the natural world and its role within the city.

The area is bounded by Uplandsgade, Raffinaderivej, and Kløvermarksvej streets, with multiple entry points to the sports facilities. Keep in mind that different sections are used at different times, so checking ahead about current activities is helpful before visiting.

After World War II, the grounds served as a refugee camp housing displaced German speakers until 1949. This period is a lesser-known chapter in the site's history that leaves little visible trace today.
