The Grey Hall operates as the primary performance space in Freetown Christiania, featuring a spacious interior that accommodates up to 1500 attendees for various events.
Originally constructed as a military riding hall in 1891, the building transformed into a central cultural venue when the Christiania community established itself in the 1970s.
The Grey Hall has welcomed numerous international performers, including Bob Dylan, Rage Against The Machine, and Metallica, establishing itself in the Danish music landscape.
During the winter season, the Grey Hall converts into a marketplace with numerous vendors selling goods and hosting community gatherings on Christmas Eve.
The structure maintains its original military architecture while functioning as the largest entertainment venue within Copenhagen's self-governing Freetown Christiania district.
