Danish nobleman Niels Juul founded this manor in 1592 on the ruins of an earlier fortification. The Renaissance-style architecture developed over time and now characterizes the building's appearance.

The sandstone entrance portal displays carved soldiers in full armor, angels, and female figures that support a family coat of arms. These sculptures show the status and importance that the family who lived here wished to display.
