Skikda Province, Mediterranean coastal province in northeastern Algeria.
Skikda Province lies along the Mediterranean coast in northeastern Algeria, spanning 13 districts organized into 38 municipalities across the region. The territory is shaped by its coastal position and rural settlements linked by road networks.
The area traces its roots back to ancient times when the provincial capital was called Rusicade. In 1974, the modern province was established as an independent administrative region.
Throughout the municipalities, local markets and gathering spaces reflect how residents maintain their customs and support traditional crafts in daily life. These community spaces show the rhythm of local traditions without being formal or organized.
Spring and autumn offer the most pleasant conditions for visiting, with comfortable temperatures and less crowded coastal areas. Traveling by car or bus works well for exploring the different municipalities and the shoreline.
The region is particularly known for strawberry farming, earning it an informal reputation as a strawberry center. At the same time, the provincial capital serves as an important maritime port for commerce.
