Fat Margaret, Fortified tower in Vanalinn, Estonia
Fat Margaret rises 20 meters high with 5-meter-thick walls and stands at the entrance of Pikk Street near the Great Coastal Gate.
Built between 1511 and 1530, the tower formed part of Tallinn's defense system and later served as a prison and weapons storage facility.
The Estonian Maritime Museum inside the tower exhibits maritime artifacts, including diving equipment and objects recovered from the Baltic Sea.
The tower stands at the northern end of the Old Town, making it an effective starting point for exploring Tallinn's medieval fortifications.
The tower's walls measure 25 meters in diameter, making it the largest defensive structure in the medieval walls of Tallinn.
