Oru Palace, Presidential summer palace in Toila, Estonia.
Oru Palace was a building in Italian Renaissance style featuring 57 rooms across three floors near Toila. The structure stood in a wooded area with sea views and was surrounded by spacious park grounds.
A Russian merchant built this palace in 1899 and invested a considerable sum in the project. After the First World War, the Estonian government took over the property for official receptions and stays.
The name Oru refers to the shoreline that defines this place. The gardens here are carefully designed and visitors experience them as an important part of the local landscape.
The park is freely accessible year-round and works well for walks in any season. Various viewpoints and natural features on the grounds can be visited without admission charges.
The park contains a natural spring with distinctive water qualities that has been known for a long time. A special observation point offers panoramic views across the coast and out to sea.
