MTV Eesti, Television channel in Tallinn, Estonia
MTV Eesti was a music television channel in Tallinn that broadcast entertainment around the clock from 2006 to 2009. The programming featured music videos, artist profiles, and shows like Alternative Nation and Chill Out Zone, all transmitted daily from studios located at Roseni 7.
The station launched in September 2006 as part of MTV Networks Baltic, bringing music television directly to Estonia for the first time. In November 2009 it was replaced by MTV Europe, marking the end of the country's dedicated local channel era.
The channel brought international music and local Estonian voices together, shaping how viewers connected with global pop culture. Presenters like Piret Järvis made the programming feel personal and relevant to the Estonian audience.
The channel was available nationwide through standard television sets, offering continuous music programming for viewers who could tune in at any time. The 24-hour schedule meant shows were accessible regardless of when people switched on their sets.
Starting in 2008 the operation was linked through a licensing agreement with Ananey Communications to sister channels in Latvia and Lithuania. This regional partnership made the Baltic music landscape feel more connected than it had been before.
