Pirgu Manor, Manor estate in Juuru parish, Estonia
Pirgu Manor is a two-story mansion in Juuru Parish surrounded by a ten-hectare park with diverse tree species. The grounds connect the main building through pathways to smaller structures, pavilions, and decorative bridges distributed across the estate.
The estate originated as a wooden manor in 1662 and remained under the ownership of the Ykskyll family for generations. In 1819, Gideon Von Stahl acquired the property, marking the beginning of a new chapter in its development.
The manor displays architectural features typical of Estonian noble residences, reflecting how Baltic aristocratic families designed their homes. Visitors can observe how such estates functioned as centers of regional influence and land management.
The mansion holds protected status for its architecture while the surrounding park is protected for its natural value. Visitors should be aware that the grounds are subject to conservation restrictions and are best explored on foot.
The park grounds feature one of the tallest nut trees in the entire Baltic region and are characterized by approximately 250 different plant species. This botanical variety makes the estate an interesting destination for nature observers and those interested in plant life.
