Police Garden, Public park in Torupilli, Estonia
Jardin de la Police is a public park in central Tallinn with walking paths, benches, and multiple recreational areas spread across several blocks. The space includes playgrounds for children, a skate park, ping-pong tables, and designated zones for people and pets.
The grounds served as vegetable gardens for military units during the 19th century under Russian Empire rule, becoming city property in 1910. In the post-war period, it was reshaped into a modern park with structured pathways and recreational facilities.
The park reflects Soviet-era urban planning through its structured layout and open spaces designed for public gathering. Today, neighbors use it as a place for daily walks, socializing, and casual outdoor activities.
The park is freely accessible with distinct zones for different activities on mostly level paths. Visitors can easily orient themselves through the open layout and move between recreational areas based on their interests.
The park hosts around 46 different species of woody plants, including horse chestnuts and ornamental apple trees. This botanical diversity creates a green retreat in the heart of the city.
